Leda XO Catchy, sad, awesome musicianship and songwriting. What's not to like? Like if black metal was a stadium rock band. Favorite track: Steal Away.

Moon Gaze 01:44
Behold the glory of this union/ the titanic symbols of our brawn/ a determination that can’t be reasoned with/ what could possibly go wrong?/ It’s always broken from the inside/ but no culprit can be found./ Sabotage destroys the trust/ Hope shatters to the ground/ The horror congeals in a piecemeal way/ until the mass can’t be denied/ the fabricated deity of strength/ was built by armour clad around a cancer inside/now unleashed by sabotage

Weeks have passed since the sickness abated/ but still a catch remains/ I’m trying to get back to feeling myself/ but still a catch remains/ I try to forget this/ calm down, take a deep breath/ but this scratching feeling inside me shows/ the sickness hasn’t left me yet/ With a forced calm I fill my lungs/ with a fresh inrush of air/ but an unyielding ailment inside me/ saps my strength and steals my hope/ How long until I can get this feeling off my chest?/ How long until I can finally take a deep breath?
4.
It was on a walk a few years ago/ in my neighbourhood, on my way home/ I stopped to feel what was going on/ things were fine around me/ but no inner peace could be found/ I looked around to see what was wrong/ but everything was fine/ I knew I had to keep moving on/ ‘cause everything was fine/ no use struggling with contentment/ when everything is fine/ just enjoy being in the present/ Still the world felt strange/ or perhaps it was me that was in the wrong place/ ever since it happened I felt I didn’t belong/ like this place had spoiled/ and that I should move on/ Calm down/ Let go/ There are times when we find/ that we should be content, that things are just fine/ but something’s just out of place/ and this notion is hard to erase
5.
The Ether 04:45
Look out there - what do you see?/ Is it only mist?/ You’ve reached the point of no return/ so where do you go?/ You try to be what you tell yourself you are/ you try to see a golden outcome/ you try to fight the forces all around you/ but you know there is no going back/ All things end - sometimes we’re left behind/ to wither and fade/ On the other side of this finite path/ there is shadow and doubt/ You try to be what you tell yourself you are/ you try to see a golden outcome/ you try to fight the forces all around you/ but you’re beyond the point of no return/ Create a fissure in your time/ step onto the fragment and cast adrift into the void/ Into the ether you have come/ unmade in elemental chaos and reformed/ Come home
6.
Steal Away 05:14
From the corners in which you hide/ Steal away/ From the forces that keep you down/ Steal away/ I have waited helplessly for a chance to be with you again/ I have struggled endlessly with the forces that keep us apart/ Tear them down/ From the burdens dragging you down/ Steal away/ From the fears that keep you in place/ Steal away/ I have can’t bear the feeling of knowing that you are in pain/ I will fight for your safety - you will not be put down again/ From the doubts that keep you at bay/ Steal away/ From the crushing losses sustained / Steal away/ You will rise gloriously with the anguish left behind/ I will stand by you faithfully seeing all that you have become

about

Conundrum Vancouver, British Columbia

Conundrum is the solo project of musician Kevin Emms (The Hallowed Catharsis) from the West Coast of Canada.

The music of Conundrum takes inspiration from dark and brooding Swedish bands such as Opeth, Katatonia and Shining as well as melancholy English bands like My Dying Bride, Paradise Lost and Anathema. Underpinning these influences is an affinity for black metal that creeps to the surface.
